 Hagan Benefits, Inc / Governmental Pools / SBI FAQs  Q: What is the cost of the training services; i.e. Defensive Driving, Sexual Harassment Prevention, Jail Suicide Prevention, Lock-out Tag-out, etc.? A: Nothing. Training is provided to the members at no charge. This is a service provided by the South Dakota Public Assurance Alliance (SDPAA - Liability Pool) and the SDML Workers' Compensation Fund. Q: Does Risk Services provide Mine Safety and Health Administration's (MSHA) 8 hour refresher course to their members? A: Yes. The Federal Government requires anyone loading or unloading sand or gravel to have an annual training update. Regional training classes are provided to the members of the two pools the first quarter of the year - AT NO CHARGE. Q: What materials are available to assist with Safety Meetings? A: Over 10,000 videos are available to members in addition to various printed materials outlining safety topics. Q: Are any department-specific training classes offered? A: Yes, currently a class is being developed for "Physical Fitness Standards for Law Enforcement and Firefighters". Q: How often are on-site surveys conducted? A: Every three years or more often if a member or the underwriter requests additional information. |
